Previously known as the Aragon Ballroom, the Cheetah Club promoted live music to the youth of Venice Beach and had bands like The Doors, Credence Clearwater, and Pink Floyd grace its stage. The venue erupted into flames on May 26, 1970 and was soon after commissioned for destruction along with the rest of the iconic ‘Lick Pier’. It was this junkyard that sat for a number of years that caused an infamous surf spot that Jay Adams and the Dogtown crew claimed as their home break.
The structural timbers and steel that sank to the bottom of the ocean, that caused the infamous surf that was their local break. The range uses graphics from different artists that pay homage to the Cheetah Club. A tribute to the live music experience that became the Dogtown relic, the disheveled pier that the Dogtown crew used it for its true purpose.
The Cheetah Series not only uses external artists for graphics but provides extra quality with lazer-etched claw marks of the Cheetah as well as dipped veneers and printed grip tape.
